Pipes & Tubes

Tubes are used in applications such as medical devices that require a precise outside diameter. The outside diameter is important since it will indicate how much it can hold as a stability factor. Pipes are used for transporting gasses or liquids making it important to know the capacity.

A pipe is a tubular section or hollow cylinder, usually but not necessarily of circular cross-section, used mainly to convey substances which can flow — liquids and gases (fluids), slurries, powders and masses of small solids.





Stainless and Duplex Steel

Duplex stainless steels are being increasingly used as structural materials in chemical and petrochemical applications, in power plants, etc. This is mainly due to their high resistance to localised corrosion as well as to their high strength and toughness.

Carbon & Alloy Steel

Nickel & Copper Alloy

Copper-nickel alloys are also used for hydraulic tubing, including brake tubing. Seawater cooling and firewater systems, heat exchangers, condensers and piping, platform riser and leg sheathing, boat hulls, oil coolers, hydraulic tubing, antimicrobial touch surfaces.

Hastelloy

The alloy is used to manufacture high-temperature gas path components such as turbine combustors, flame holders, liners, pressure vessels of some nuclear reactors, chemical reactors, and pipes/valves in the chemical industry.

Inconel

As such, pipes and tubes made with INCONEL alloy 625 can be used in sour gas pipelines, as well as in seawater heat exchangers, power plants and chemical processing. More recently, it's also found used in biofuel production as part of the superheater tubing systems.
